LOUGHMACRORY 0 – 03 1 – 09 OMAGH
Omagh too strong for reserves
The reserve team failed to secure the points in the first fixture of the weekend at home to Omagh. In the first half the visitors, led by former county player Niall ‘Walter’ McSorley, won the toss and capitalised on playing with the wind on their backs by notching up 1 - 08. This despite the best efforts of the stretched defence in which Damien McElduff was the top performer. Keeping the home side scoreless in the opening period was, however, a more telling indicator of the run of the game.
The second half saw some improvement with Barry McElduff opening our scoring account. Shane McCullagh and Gerard Donaghy added points but the lead accumulated in the first half proved unassailable with Omagh coasting home to a 9 point victory.
An accidental mid-air collision between midfielder's Paddy McDonald and Sean Paul Slane led to a recurrence of Sean Paul’s ankle injury. He is wished a speedy recovery.
