LOUGHMACRORY 1 -09 1 -07 MOORTOWN
The reserves picked up two more league points on Saturday evening at the expense of Moortown in a close encounter which saw the teams level on no fewer than six occasions.
Moortown posted two early points before Sean Paul Slane brought the sides level with two pointed frees. Noel Kelly then put Loughmacrory ahead for the first time and further points from Shane McCullagh and Slane gave Loughmacrory a one point advantage at the break.
That lead was short lived however as Moortown had the ball in the Loughmacrory net in the first minute of the second half putting them two in front. Then Malachy Coyle, who had come on for Patrick Hughes, was first to react when Paddy McDonald’s low shot came off the bottom of the upright and he drove the rebound to the net to restore Loughmacrory’s one point lead once again. Further scores from Pearse and Gerard Donaghy left the final score 1 – 09 to 1 – 07 in favour of the Lough men and brought their points tally to 5 from three outings.
