EDENDORK 2 – 06 0 – 12 LOUGHMACRORY
The reserve team found the going difficult against a stiff breeze in Sundays curtain raiser in Edendork. Despite the return to the panel of several players the home side were in control in most sectors for the opening half, leading 1 - 04 to 0 - 03 at the interval, the goal coming from a hotly disputed penalty.
Strong words from Sean Donaghy and Paddy Fox at the break saw a resurgent team in the second period quickly recover the deficit with points from substitutes Gavin Conway and Paddy Hughes among others.
With Carl McGuckin causing problems all over from his midfield berth he accurately struck a 13 metre free to the roof of the net before the defence was organised increasing the pressure on the reserves. Karl Logue then broke down the left flank from midfield and looked to have secured both league points with a point in the dying stages.
Another free however pulled the home side back in the closing stages to share the spoils.
