LOUGHMACRORY 1 - 07 2 - 03 EDENDORK
Reserves finish season in third place with win over Edendork
In their last match of the season the reserves had a well deserved win over Edendork this evening in Pairc an Locha. Playing with the breeze on their backs a repatriated Mark McCullagh opened Loughmacrory’s account with two converted frees and a fine point from play. Brendan Ward and Eoin Mullan added further points before Carl Logue’s speculative shot from out on the left came off the upright and into the Edendork net. Edendork responded with two points from frees and one from play to leave the half time score Loughmacrory 1 – 05 Edendork 0 – 03.
On the resumption Benny Ward notched another Loughmacrory point before Edendork closed the gap with a goal when an attacker got his fist to a 45, which was dropping in the square, and punched it to the net. Raymond Ward scored a point for the Lough and, despite converting a penalty; Edendork could not close the gap sufficiently to share the spoils.
