Secretary’s report to AGM 6 of 6  2009
There were a number of events organized within the Social Club during 2010 and with the new Building having being recently passed by Building Control in October it is hoped that the Bar will shortly be open on a more regular basis. The Club held the Annual Dinner Dance in January in the Greenvale Hotel in Cookstown with County Chairman Pat Darcy attending as special gust along with the Tom Markham and Sam Maguire Cups and the Youth Presentation evening was held in November with Stephen O Neill in attendance.
Before I conclude my report I would like to pay special thanks to all members of the Club Committee for their efforts and hard work throughout the year as well as John Conway for the work he does at the new Pavilion. Our two club Referees, Sean Mc Cartan and Cathal Logue also deserve recognition for carrying out their duties in 2009. I would also like to congratulate both on referring County Finals. Sean was in charge of the Grade 1 U-16 Championship Final replay whilst Cathal was the man in the middle of the of the Grade 3 U-16 League final. A special word of thanks must also go to Ann Gallagher and those people who were involved in the catering for the Senior team after training as well as at home games, to those who volunteered of their time to carry out various tasks in the social club as well as those who carried out the task of officiating at our games under the direction of Sean Mc Dermott.
It would be remiss of me not to mention our supporters who follow our teams throughout the County. The effort you make to follow those wearing the Black and Amber of Loch Mhic Ruairí is greatly appreciated and we look forward to your continued support in 2010.
From a personal point of view I would like to thank Club Chairman Martin Donaghy for his help and assistance during the year as well as Treasurer Sean Donaghy for all his support. Without these two men my job as Secretary would have been an awful lot more difficult.
Looking ahead to the 2010 season it would give me great satisfaction to see fresh faces getting involved in the running of our Club to ensure that is it passed on to the next generation in a healthy state. I would therefore encourage anyone who feels they have something to offer to join the new Committee for the year ahead. I would also like to take this opportunity to wish all our teams good luck for the 2010 season.
Lastly I would like to remember those connected to the club who passed away during the past year. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and friends at this time.
