Secretary’s report to AGM 3 of 6  2009
.The U-15 side took part in the Óg sport competition, which was hosted by Beragh. The lads played three games but did not qualify for the knock out stages.

The U-14 team was managed by Mick Meenagh, Sean Mc Dermott and Ronan Ward and competed in Grade Two. The side won eight of their ten group games to qualify to reach the league Quarter Finals. Unfortunately at this stage of the competition they met a strong Pomeroy side and were defeated on a 2-8 to 1-9 scoreline on Saturday 16th May. In the Championship the lads defeated Dungannon and Stewartstown to qualify for the Final against Fintona on Friday 5th June. This game played at Killyclogher proved to be a very entertaining contest for the large crowd in attendance. Unfortunately the result went the wrong way from a Loughmacrory point of view as Fintona emerged winners on a 3-9 to 2-10 scoreline. The side also took part in the Feile Peil Na Og that the club hosted in April but did not manage to qualify for the Finals stage. Overall the boys can be very happy with their progress throughout the year and at U-16 level in two years time they should be able to make the step up to play at Grade One.

The U-13 competition was run throughout the month of September and the team competed in Grade 2. John O Brien, Seamus Curran and Barney Gallagher managed the side. Despite getting of to an excellent start with a 7-11 to 0-1 victory over Strabane the side didn’t manage to won any further fixtures as they suffered defeats to Pomeroy, Trillick Fintona and Greencastle and didn’t make the knock out stages. A lot of the players involved are eligible to play at this level again next year, and there is a lot of talent within this particular group.

The U-12s played in a league section that contained Greencastle, Beragh, Donaghmore, Galbally and Killeshil. The lads made excellent progress during the year under the management team of John O Brien, Seamus Curran and Barney Gallagher. The league fixtures meant that they had to play each team twice and in a lot of cases the boys managed to record a victory in one of the fixtures. The side was often faced with problems of opposing managers referring games and this is an area the County Board would need to look at for 2010. The highlight of the season for the lads was winning the Harte Memorial Tournament in August after defeating Greencastle in the Final.
The U-11 side took part in the BC tournament hosted by the Emyvale Club on 5th September. The lads managed to won the Tournament, which consisted of 24 teams. This was a great achievement for the boys and their management of Barry Mc Elduff and Sean Mc Gaughey.
The U-10 team again under the guidance of Barry Mc Elduff and Sean Mc Gaughey took part in a series of Blitz and proved to be very strong for their section. The lads also won the Johnny Begley Tournament which was hosted by Carrickmore on Saturday 19th September. Overall they had a very successful season and can look forward to playing U-12 football with some of the top teams in the County.
The U-8’s had a number of coaches involved during the year and these were headed by Gary Conway. The side participated against teams from Beragh, Castlederg, Fintona, Trillick and Tattyreagh in the Go Games Blitzes as well as in a number of Tournaments and gave a good account of themselves in each one.
