KILLYCLOGHER 1 - 10 3 - 05 LOUGHMACRORY
Reserves record second victory in a week
Two goals within three minutes of the start of the second half put the reserves into an eight points lead and, despite not scoring for the remainder of the half, these vital strikes were enough to see them hold on for a one point win over Killyclogher St Mary’s in Ballinamullin on Sunday.
Playing with a strong wind at their backs Loughmacrory they led at half time 1 - 05 to 1 - 02, the goal coming when Sean O’Kane was quickest to react when Joe McCracken’s shot came off the Killyclogher crossbar and young O’Kane palmed it to the net. McCracken then took a free from the returned Karl Logue to split the posts and three minutes later Paul Donnelly pointed. Pearse Donaghy had the final say of the half when he took a pass from Brendan Ward to conclude Loughmacrory’s first half scoring with a fine point.
The second half was just a minute old when Daryl Kelly banged home Loughmacrory’s second major after good approach work from Sean O’Kane and Paul Donnelly. Three minutes later Paul Donnelly rattled the home net once again to put his side eight ahead at 3 - 05 to 1 - 03. That was to be the visitor’s final score however as the St Mary’s took full advantage of the strong breeze to knock over a further seven points but it was not enough to deny the St Teresa’s their sixth league win of the season.
