LOUGHMACRORY 1 – 13     1 – 08 MOY

Reserves record fourth straight league win

Although missing a few regulars the Reserves had a comfortable five points win over the visiting Moy Tír Na nÓg on Sunday. Loughmacrory, with the wind at their backs, opened strongly with points from Joe McCracken and Damien McAleer in the first two minutes. Moy levelled it but the home side continued to press forward only to shoot three wides before midfielder McAleer sent over his second and McCracken converted another free to make it double scores. Young Sean O’Kane then sent over to put three between them. For all their dominance the home side were rocked back on their heels when the Moy men were awarded a penalty which they duly converted to level the match with five minutes of the first half to play. The Lough men finished the half strongly though when first Niall Toner raced all the way from corner back to split the posts, McCracken sent over his third free and substitute Pius McElhatton pointed to leave three between the sides at the short whistle.
Ciarán Ward extended the home margin in the opening minute of the second half but the Moy pulled two back before McCracken, with his fourth successful conversion, restored the four points margin. Pius McElhatton who had an great game, set up Gussy McAleer for a Loughmacrory’s goal to leave it 1 – 10 to 1 – 4. The Tír Na nÓg men replied with three quick frees in a fruitful five minute spell but the home side came to life once more as Neil Mullan put Joe McCracken through for his fifth point and a minute later McElhatton finished a good Loughmacrory move with a point.    In one of their rare sorties forward Moy sent over their last score the fifth score from a free but this score was cancelled out two minutes later to leave the final score Loughmacrory 1 – 13 Moy 1 – 08.
