LOUGHMACRORY 1 - 11 1 - 04 KILDRESS
Seniors pick up two more league points at home to Kildress
The seniors collected another two valuable points on Friday evening at home to Kildress to move out of the danger spot at the bottom of the table. Loughmacrory were first out of the trap and had three points on the board courtesy of two pointed frees from Ronan Ward and a point from Ciarán Meenagh, before the Wolfe Tones registered a score. Suddenly the visitors found themselves right back in the game however when they were awarded a penalty which they duly converted and then moved two ahead with their second point midway through the half. Brian McCrystal and Connal Kelly registered points apiece to restore parity before the visitors went one up again but Ronan Ward levelled the match at 0 – 06 to 1 – 03 at the break.
It was practically one way traffic in the second half as the home side took control of the game. Three converted frees from the ever reliable boot of Ronan Ward set the scene before Stephen Grimes rattled the Kildress net to put six points between the sides and there was no way back for the visitors who only managed a solitary point in the second half. Brian McCrystal and Connal Kelly each notched their second point of the game to leave a comfortable seven points winning margin at the long whistle.
