AGHYARAN 0 – 10 1 – 09 LOUGHMACRORY
Reserves pick up second win on the trot
The reserves recorded their second successive league win on Saturday away to Aghyaran to move off the bottom of the table. Down a point at half time Aghyaran extended their lead in the third minute of the second half and then threatened to put the game away when through on goal only to be denied by a point blank save from Loughmacrory keeper Eunan Donnelly. Loughmacrory pulled one back from a free before Ciarán Ward levelled the match at seven apiece. The home team took the lead once again before Sean O’Kane struck for the only goal of the game midway through the half to put the visitors ahead for a lead they were not to relinquish again. Mickey McCullagh tucked over a nice point and Damien McAleer took a pass form Pearse Donaghy to put his side four ahead with eight minutes to go.
The home team pulled back two points in the final five minutes but in between these scores Loughmacrory keeper Donnelly was called upon once again to make another fine save thus keeping his sheet clean and allowing his team emerge triumphant.
