EDENDORK 1 - 12 2 - 07 LOUGHMACRORY
Despite scoring two goals within ten minutes of the throw in Loughmacrory failed to build on this early advantage and went down by two points to Edendork in Edendork on Sunday.
The game was just three minutes old when Loughmacrory were awarded a penalty when Enda Ward was hauled down in the square. The Edendork keeper could only parry Ronan Ward’s shot and brother Enda was on hand to bang the rebound to the net. Five minutes later the Ward brothers were again involved when Ronan took a pass from Enda and set up Shane Coyle who made no mistake with a well placed shot to the roof of the Edendork net. Edendork however refused to panic and by the half way stage had reduced Loughmacrory’s lead to just three points.
Half time score Loughmacrory 2 – 03 Edendork 1 – 03.
On the resumption Edendork grabbed the initiative and had gone into a one point lead before Mark McCullagh leveled matters by the three quarters stage. But despite the best efforts of Gary Conway in midfield and Ronan and Enda Ward up front, Edendork finished the stronger to run out winners on a 1 –12 to 2 – 07 score line.
