DROMORE 1 - 08 0 - 13 LOUGHMACRORY
Reserves put victories back to back in Cookstown
The reserves scored an impressive victory away to Cookstown Fr Rocks this evening in a hard fought and at times bad tempered affair. Cookstown were first out of the blocks and looked the sharper side as they went three points to no score up after 7 minutes. Once Patrick Kelly opened Loughmacrory's account however the St Teresa’s stormed ahead in dramatic fashion with points from Donal Ward and two apiece from Connal Kelly and Joe McCracken. When Stephen Donaghy was upended going through on goal the referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot and Donaghy himself dismissed the penalty to the net to put the visitors 5 points up at the break at 1 - 07 to 0 - 05.
Joe McCracken opened Loughmacrory’s second half account with a pointed free and Patrick Kelly added another before Donal Ward, who was having a great game at full forward, sent Enda Ward through for a point and Connal Kelly added another before the Fr Rocks found their range again to add three in a productive five minute spell at the three quarter stage. McCracken put Enda Ward through for a point to leaving Loughmacrory seven ahead at 1 - 12 to 0 - 08 at the thirty minute stage. The home side fared better in extra time sending over two frees and a point form play but Joe McCracken's rounded off a good night’s work with his fifth point but of the evening to leave the Lough comfortable five point winners
