DROMORE 1 - 08 0 - 13 LOUGHMACRORY
Reserves pick up their second win away to Dromore
In a closely fought and evenly contested opener on Thursday evening in Gardrum Park, Dromore the reserves picked up two league points to bring their total to five.
Loughmacrory were three up after ten minutes courtesy of points from Daniel Fox, Stephen Grimes and corner back Gusty McAleer. Dromore then opened their account from a free but Karl Logue immediately took a pass from Conor Fullen to restore the three points lead before the home side struck for the only goal of the game to level the match at 1 - 01 to 0 - 04. From there to the short whistle Loughmacrory dominated exchanges and two points apiece from Grimes and Logue saw them lead by three at the half way stage.
On the resumption Stephen Grimes continued his fine form pointing in the first minute and being hauled down going through two minutes later earning a free which Sean Slane slotted over from close in. The St Dympna’s kept in touch closing the gap to a single point with seven minutes to go but it was that man Grimes who had the final say with a neat point from play in the last minute of the game.
This was a good all round performance from the Lough with Pearse Gallagher and Pearse Donaghy solid in defence, Slane dominant in the middle of the park and Grimes and Logue accurate up front.
