ERRIGAL 1 – 15 1 - 05 LOUGHMACRORY
Seniors comprehensively beaten by Errigal Ciarán
.The seniors suffered a comprehensive defeat away to Errigal Ciarán yesterday evening going down by 10 points in the end.
Although it was the visitors who opened the scoring, Ronan Ward sending over a free after two minutes, they only added one further point in the first half hour courtesy of Stephen Conway. Meanwhile Errigal had notched 7 points on the trot and despite one excellent save from Mattie O’Brien midway through the first half the pressure was such that a goal was inevitable and it came after 20 minutes to put the Ballygawley men 8 points to the good and they continued to dominate the proceedings sending over another three minors to go in at the break leading by 11 points at 1 – 10 to 0 - 02
Two early points increased the home lead in the opening five minutes of the second period before Loughmacrory began to find their feet. They at last began to exert some pressure but shot a few poor wides before Ronan Ward added his two good efforts, one from play and the other from a free. Ciarán Meenagh, who had a roving corner forward role, added another before Donal Ward scrambled the ball to the Errigal net to put a more balanced look on the scoreboard. The home team however came good again sending over another three points in the last five minutes to run out comfortable winners.
