CLONOE 3 - 16 0 - 09 LOUGHMACRORY
Seniors succumb to second heavy defeat on the trot
For the second week in succession the seniors tumbled to a humiliating defeat in the league this time going down by a massive sixteen points to Clonoe O'Rahilly's.
Clonoe looked much the faster and sharper side as they knocked over three points in as many minutes to lead 0 - 03 to 0 - 00 after three minutes. Although Emmott Donaghy and Ciarán Ward pulled back two for the visitors the home side took control once more raking up another eight points and when they hit the Loughmacrory net on 28 minutes the game as a contest was over. Brian McCrystal did manage a point for the visitors but there was still a dozen between them at the turn around at 1 - 12 to 0 - 03.
The pattern continued in the second half The O’Rahilly’s playing much the faster and coherent football as they knocked over another four points in reply to a single effort from Raymond Ward for the Lough. Unfortunately there was still worse to come as Clonoe were awarded a penalty mid way through the half which they duly dismissed to the Lough net. Loughmacrory did eventually find some scoring rhythm as Emmott Donaghy with a couple of frees and scores from Ciarán and Raymond ward helped the look of the score board just a little but the home side had the last say with their third goal of the evening to leave an embarrassing sixteen points gap between the sides at the final whistle.
