LOUGHMACRORY 0 - 10 1 - 08 CLONOE
Reserves see two points slip away to Championship title holders
The reserves were unfortunate to go down by the minimum margin to reserve champions Clonoe in Sunday’s opener. Two early frees from Stephen Grimes had the home side one ahead before Clonoe were awarded a penalty which they duly converted to put them 1 - 01 to 0 - 02 up. They only registered one further point before the break however as Loughmacrory dominated the second quarter to lead by 0 - 07 to 1 - 02 at the turn around with four points from Joe McCracken and one from Paul Donnelly.
The visitors drew level five minutes into the second half before Grimes converted a free and Patrick McCullagh put the Lough two up once again. Loughmacrory’s challenge faded somewhat from there on as the O’Rahilly’s notched the next four points in four minutes, three from frees, to go two up. Loughmacrory did put on some pressure in the final five minutes but all they could muster was a pointed free from Joe McCracken which still left them one adrift at the long whistle.
Unfortunately Eoin Harte had to go off at half time and was taken to hospital with suspected concussion.
