Minor ladies complete double
The minor ladies added the Grade 3 league title to their championship title won earlier in the year against the same opposition when they had seven points to spare over Fintona in Kileeshil yesterday evening.
Fintona had the ball in the Loughmacrory net within thirty seconds of the throw in but once Colleen Grimes hit the Fintona net they practically dominated proceedings from there to the final whistle. Further points from Colleen and her sister Kerri put the St Teresa’s girls further ahead.
In the second period half back Noelle Kelly raced forward to plant the ball in the Fintona net and there was no way back for the South Tyrone girls. Further points from Rebecca O’Brien and Kerri Grimes extended their lead by the three quarter stage while a late goal from the Pearse’s only helped to put a more balance look on the scoreboard.
it was Loughmacrory’s night and it was a proud captain who raised aloft the trophy. Manager Paddy O’Brien has done great work with this group of girls and it was just reward for the titanic efforts put in by him and the girls.
