LOUGHMACRORY 0 - 12 1 - 06 POMEROY
Loughmacrory collected the first league points on offer on the opening day of league action for 2007 with three points to spare over visitors Pomeroy Plunketts.
Pomeroy opened the scoring with a goal and had gone ahead 1 - 03 to 0 - 00 before Sean Paul Slane opened Loughmacrory’s account with a pointed free in the 12tth minute. Loughmacrory then hit four more points - Ronan Ward the main marksman to go in at the break just a point in arrears at 1 - 03 to 0 - 05.
Pomeroy extended their lead with a point in the first minute of the second half but Ciarán Ward replied almost immediately with a similar score for the Lough and Stevie Conway sent a perfect cross field pass to Stephen Donaghy who made no mistake in levelling the affair a minute later.
Donaghy and Ronan Ward put the home side two up before Chris Colhoun pulled one back for the visitors. The St Teresa’s finished strongly however running out three point winners.
