LOUGHMACRORY 2 - 12 0- 02 EGLISH
Reserves run rampant against Eglish
The reserves scored a comprehensive win over Eglish after the senior challenge game in Loughmacrory on Sunday.
Loughmacrory made all the running in the first half, Eoin Harte splitting the posts for the opening point of the game in the first minute. Five minutes later Ciarán Ward cracked home a goal after a good move all the way up the field and the writing was already on the wall for the visitors when the same player pointed within a minute after good work by Pearse Donaghy and Enda Ward. Daniel McCallan added two further points for the home side before Eglish opened their account in the eighteenth minute with a pointed free. Paul Donnelly added two further points before the break to leave the half time score Loughmacrory 1 - 06 Eglish 0 - 01.
The second half followed a similar pattern, both teams chalking up the same score as they had done in the first moiety. Loughmacrory had the ball in the Eglish net in the first minute and Stephen Grimes, who came on for Enda Ward at half time, knocked over four points in the half hour. These added to two converted frees form Paul Donnelly brought Loughmacrory’s tally to 2 - 12 and all the St Patrick’s could muster over the half hour was one further point.
