Sunday 11 February 2007 LOUGHMACRORY 1 - 08 2 - 10 GALBALLY Galbally sink the Lough with storming finish Loughmacrory will be wondering how they managed to let this game slip so dramatically from their grasp as they held a seven points lead at the three quarter stage but allowed their opponents Galbally to stage a dramatic comeback in the final quarter scoring 2 - 07 in reply to a solitary point from the home side to turn a seven points deficit into an eight points winning margin. With Ciarán Meenagh and Niall Kelly solid at the centre of the home defence the St Teresa’s with four points from Benny Ward an Sean Paul Slane led 0 -04 to 0 - 01 after 17 minutes. Galbally added two further minors to leave the half time score 0 - 04 to 0 - 03 in favour of Loughmacrory. On the resumption Stephen Donaghy was first to raise a white flag and he then put Slane through for a sweet point from his right boot and when Ronan Ward took a pass from Ciarán Ward and goaled the home side looked to be well on their way to victory. On twenty minutes Stephen Donaghy put Ronan Ward through for a point but the Pearses took complete control from there on adding two goals and seven points in reply to a single point from Ronan Ward. The onslaught continued during the dying minutes as the Pearses cut through at will to bring their final tally to 2 - 10 Ronan Ward pointing for the home side in one of their rare sallies into enemy territory.
