LOUGHMACRORY 2 - 12 1 - 04 POMEROY
Reserves turn tables on Pomeroy
The reserves scored a comfortable victory over Pomeroy on Friday evening at home.
In a one sided first half Loughmacrory had registered a goal and six points before the visitors notched their first and what proved to be their only point of the opening period. Loughmacrory’s goal was palmed to the net by Pius McElhatton after seventeen minutes by which time they had already sent over six points, four from Stephen Donaghy (two frees) and one each from Shane Coyle and Daniel Fox. Coyle went on to add another two before the turn around, one a clever fisted effort, to leave the half time score 1 - 08 to 0 - 01.
Pomeroy opened the second half scoring with their second point but when Daniel Fox palmed an Eoin Harte cross to the net twenty minutes into the half the game as a contest was over as Stephen Donaghy had already brought his tally to six and Loughmacrory’s points total to ten. Pomeroy did stage a late rally knocking over three points and burst through for a goal with the final kick of the game but the home side were never in danger of being overtaken.
