Galbally find Reserves too hot to handle
After the disappointment of losing to Drumquin the reserves scored a comprehensive 8 points win over Galbally at home on Tuesday evening.
The game was fifteen minutes old before Loughmacrory raised a flag when Connal Kelly pointed a free by which time the Pearses had registered two points. A minute later however Eoin Mullan put the home side into the lead when he blasted to the Galbally net form close range thus enabling his side to go in at the break with a slender one point lead, Loughmacrory’s other point coming from Benny Ward. Five minutes later Galbally threatened to goal but keeper Ryan Keenan took off a brilliant save.
On the resumption the visitors levelled the affair from a free before Ciarán Ward pointed for the Lough and two minutes later his brother Brendan banged home the first of his two goals to put his side four up before Paddy McDonald pointed after good approach work involving Niall Kelly and Brian McCrystal. Emmott Donaghy then pointed a free from out on the right wing. Even though Loughmacrory were playing with 14 men, Karl Logue having been dismissed on a second yellow card, they defended valiantly for the next scoreless ten minutes and in the last three minutes Brendan Ward rounded off an excellent performance with his second goal and a point to run out eight points winners.
