Killeeshil bite the dust
After a brilliant opening quarter which saw Loughmacrory build up a formidable 8 points lead the writing was on the wall for visitors Killeeshil and the home side continued to dominate for most of the game. Loughmacrory’s inside forward line was in devastating form from the throw in as they notched 1 - 03 in the space of ten minutes in the opening quarter. Ciarán Ward opened the scoring with a well taken pointing the third minute and a minute later Enda Ward rattled the Killeeshil net for the first of Loughmacrory’s goals. The other full forward Stephen Donaghy then got in on the act with a well taken point and captain Enda registered another minor before the pair combined for Donaghy to shoot to the net to put the home side 2 - 03 to 0 - 01 up. The St Teresa’s continued to dictate matters adding a further four points before the short whistle through Ronan Ward, Enda Ward, Ciarán Ward and Stevie Conway leaving the half time score Loughmacrory 2 - 07 Killeeshil 0 - 03.
On the resumption Killeeshil did mount a mini comeback scoring three successive points in reply to the opening point form Sean Paul Slane. That was as good as it was to get for them however as Loughmacrory held possession and rounded off the scoring with points from Joseph Kelly, Ciarán Meenagh and Enda Ward. Final score Loughmacrory 2 - 11 Killeeshil 0 - 08.
