LOUGHMACRORY 0 - 12 1 - 14 CLANN NA NGAEL
Table toppers Clan Na nGael defeat seniors
Table toppers Clan Na nGael proved a hard nut to crack on their visit to Pairc an Locha on Sunday and when Stevie O’Neill sent Aidy Ball through for a Goal after ten minutes Loughmacrory found themselves five points in arrears. The St Teresa’s then knuckled down and produced some excellent football for the next twelve minutes with the Ward brothers in top scoring form as Ronan landed four points and Enda another to level the affair at 0 - 06 to 1 - 03. It was all to play for now and Ronan landed another sandwiched between two converted frees from Stevie O’Neill and four minutes later Ciarán Ward level once again before the Clansmen pushed with a point on the stroke of half time.
Immediately in the restart Damien McAleer levelled the affair for the fourth time but then the visitors notched six points in the next twenty minutes with Loughmacrory’s only reply a point from Stevie Conway.
Substitute Sean Paul Slane stoked over two excellent scores with his left boot but these were cancelled out by similar scores from Joe Ball and Brian Dooher to restore the Clansmen’s five points lead as the final whistle blew.
