As I bring to an end the Secretary’s report for 2005 I want to thank all members of our committee for their assistance and support during the year. I appreciate the work carried out by all the sub committees that were set up at the beginning of the year. Our two club referees, Sean McCartan and Cathal Logue, as well as our County Board representative Paddy O’Brien, also deserve special praise for their work during the year. From a personal point of view I want to show my appreciation to chairman Paddy O’Brien and Treasurer Sean Donaghy who assisted me in my position during the year in any way possible.
I look forward to the new season with a renewed sense of hope and expectation and I would like to wish all our teams good luck for 2006. It would also give me a great sense of satisfaction to see more people becoming involved in and taking an interest in Cumann Naomh Treasa, and that is why I appeal today for new faces to step up and go on the committee and hopefully their fresh ideas may advance the club even further.
Finally we recall those who died in 2005. We offer our deepest sympathy to all club members who suffered bereavements during the past year. In particular we sympathise with the families of Barney McAleer, Sean Gallagher and Pat Fullen who are no longer with us. Hopefully all associated with Loch Mhic Ruairí Cumann Naomh Treasa will draw inspiration from the example these men set to us through their involvement with the club.
