TRILLICK 2 - 05 0 - 06 LOUGHMACRORY
Reserves fall to Trillick
They say goals win matches and this was surely true in the opener at Donnelly Park Trillick on Sunday when two goals in the last ten minutes clinched the league points for the home reserve team. The sides were level at 1 all, 2 all, 3 all and 4 all but those goals pulled the home team away in the final quarter.
In a low scoring first half Sean Paul Slane was Loughmacrory’s only scorer with two points, one from a placed ball, while the home side registered just one better to leave the half time score 0 - 03 to 0 - 02.
On the resumption Slane pointed again for the visitors in the opening minute to level the affair and when Benny Ward sent over a fine point five minutes later things were looking good for the visitors as they led for the first time in the match. Within five minutes however that lead was wiped as Trillick added two points and a goal to go into the final quarter with double Loughmacrory’s total at 1 - 05 to 0 - 04. Eoin Mullan pulled one back for the visitors and Slane added his fourth point but that was as close as the Lough men were to get as the home team grabbed their second major on a counter-attack to take the match at 2 - 05 to 0 - 06.
