LOUGHMACRORY 2 - 04 2 - 07 GORTIN
Reserves leave comeback too late against Gortin
Down 10 points at half time the reserves looked to be onto a hiding to nothing but made a gallant comeback in the second period which unfortunately was not enough to close the gap.
Gortin had 2 goals and 5 points on the board by the time Gerard Donaghy opened the Loughmacrory account with a point, their only score of the first half to leave the half time score 2 - 05 to 0 - 01.
Eoin Mullan opened the second half scoring with a point but the visitors replied with a similar score to re-establish their ten point lead. When Connal Kelly rattled the Gortin net a few minutes later the home team at last began to show some belief in themselves as two pointed frees and a well taken goal by Gerard Donaghy reduced the deficit to just three points. But although Loughmacrory did mount a couple of determined attacks in the last five minutes the visitors held out to take both league points.
