LOUGHMACRORY 5 - 08 2 - 05 BERAGH
Ladies win helps secure intermediate status
Loughmacrory took on Beragh on Sunday in the league knowing anything but a win would see them playing division 3 football next season. The weather conditions didn't help either side in a low scoring 1st half as scores were hard to come by. The Lough, playing with a gale force wind on their backs, started brightly with points from Nadine and Kaleena Kelly to ease into a two point lead. Beragh pulled a point back before the lively Kerri Grimes scored a good point for Loughmacrory. Loughmacrory then scored a goal when Eimear Wards long range effort somehow ended up in the Beragh net. Beragh got a goal before half time to leave two points in it at the break.
Loughmacrory took control in the second half and added four goals before the finish, three of these coming from sub Lisa McAleer, to run out Comfortable winners on a scoreline of 5 - 08 to 2 - 05. Cara McAnespie and Marie Gallagher were brilliant in the back line Eimear Ward played well at midfield while up front Nadine Kelly, Kerri Grimes, Karen Kelly and sub Lisa McAleer made the difference.
