Killeeshil 0 -14 2 - 15 LOUGHMACRORY
Fifth consecutive league win for Reserves
The reserves recorded their fifth consecutive league win away to Killeeshil in a fixture which went ahead without the corresponding Senior tie. The well balanced visitors took control early and showed well in all sectors to take the lead, going in 0 - 07 to 0 - 04 ahead at half time.
The second half saw the lead quickly extended with a surging run from Noel Kelly, who had been switched into corner back, set-up full forward Ryan Keenan who calmly slotted the ball past the keeper to the back of the net. Stephen Donaghy continued to keep on the pressure with points from frees and from play as Paddy McDonald controlled most of the possession around the middle.
Having been reduced to fourteen men at the end of the first half Killeeshil continued to press forward but could not break down the rearguard, led my Shane Donnelly, to trouble Matthew O'Brien in goals. The final nail in the coffin was driven home when Brendan Ward’s shot was too strong for the keeper to hold and Patrick Hughes was on hand to claim another major.
The introduction of Karl Logue saw him tag on two points to wrap the game up at a comfortable pace.
