GORTIN 1 - 10 0 - 13 LOUGHMACRORY
Loughmacrory and Gortin share points for second time
Loughmacrory and Gortin played out their second draw of the season on Tuesday evening. Mark McCullagh opened the scoring with a point in the second minute and a minute later Stevie Conway landed a beauty from close to the right sideline. Gortin’s first score of the evening came in the seventh minute but Ronan Ward replied immediately with a sweet strike and his brother Enda followed suit. Loughmacrory seemed to be cruising now as further scores from Enda Ward and Mark McCullagh put them into a comfortable 0 - 06 to 0 - 02 lead.
Gortin then shot over four points without reply to draw level by the twentieth minute. Ciarán Ward got the Lough men back on target and Enda Ward put them two ahead again before Kevin McCullagh converted a forty five for Gortin to leave just one in it at the break
On the resumption Ronan and Ciarán Ward put Loughmacrory three ahead after five minutes but the visitors failed to score for the next fifteen minutes by which time the Glensmen had closed the gap to one. On the twentieth minute Ronan Ward put his side two up again but then Gortin struck for the only goal of the match to take the lead for the first time. Loughmacrory continued to press forward and although Stevie Conway put them a point up again with three minutes to play Gortin levelled matters a minute later. Despite last ditch efforts by both teams time ran out before either could grab the lead again.
